Thread the Needle & Open

  • All-4s start position
    This movement is all about rotational spine mobility with a dash of shoulder strength and mobility on the supporting side and some opening up through the chest and front of the other shoulder. Make the movement as smooth as you can - opening-up and straight into 'threading'. If your wrist hurts place the heel of your hand on the edge of the mat (or a book if you don't have a mat) and the fingers on the floor.

    Here are two of our 'base' moves - Rolling Down is lovely for mobilising and releasing the spine. The Hundred is a move to build up the strength and endurance of the core (belt) muscles.
